Welcome to CARD Registration! The CARD Directory (Counselors Assisting Relief and Development) is an international online directory of professional counselors interested in providing services for humanitarian relief and development workers.

There are 23 questions in this registration form. It is to your advantage to answer all of the questions as fully and completely as possible, as this will help people searching for a counselor in the CARD Directory discern whether you might be well placed to meet their needs. Some questions are marked with an asterisk. These are required questions and your information will only be included in the directory if you provide this information (e.g., a valid email address).

Questions that are not marked with an asterisk are optional. If you prefer not to answer these questions you may leave them blank. This will not affect the submission of your registration form.

After you have completed the registration form your information will be submitted to the Headington Institute using a secure, encrypted, connection.

If your stated qualifications meet the eligibility requirements for inclusion into the CARD Directory your information will be included in the Directory when it is next updated. CARD allows users to search for listed counselors according to country, languages spoken, and other variables. The eligibility requirements for inclusion in the CARD Directory are as follows:

  1. Advanced degree (Masters degree, Doctorate or PhD) in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, pastoral care, or M.D. in psychiatry.
  2. Licensure for independent practice (if there is a requirement of licensure where you practice).

At present the CARD Directory is being updated monthly, so it may take up to four weeks for your information to appear in the Directory.

The Headington Institute does not examine, determine, or provide a warranty with respect to the competence of any counselor listed in the CARD (Counselors Assisting Relief and Development) Directory ("CARD", "the CARD Directory" or "the Directory"). User agrees that User's use of this Directory to locate a counselor is wholly voluntary, and User further agrees that User's use of the Directory or a counselor, or reliance on the advice or direction of a counselor, shall not result in any liability against the Headington Institute. With respect to all use of the Directory and the counselors listed herein, User fully and voluntarily releases the Headington Institute from any claim, demand, or other legal action of any nature it has, had, or may have against the Headington Institute related to the use of the Directory. In no event shall the Headington Institute be liable for damages to any user of the Directory for the selection of any counselor, for the services provided by any listed counselor, or for any damages which may occur relating to the use of the Directory or counselor. As used herein, Headington Institute shall be defined to include directors, officers, employees, volunteers, members, and agents.

The Headington Institute cannot and does not provide any warranties related to the information contained in an individual counselor profile, nor the resulting services that may be provided by a listed counselor.

All the information in the counselor profile is provided by the counselor who has affirmed that the statements are true and that the information provided is not false, misleading, or deceptive. However, the Headington Institute does not verify or warrant the accuracy of the listed license/certification/liability information. If interested, please check with the appropriate state regulatory body to confirm the currency and accuracy of all license/certification information.

By performing a Directory search for a counselor, User agrees that User understands and accepts the terms and conditions of the CARD Directory outlined above.
